"Clean Across America", how we can Keep America the Beautiful.

This year’s dates for the ”Clean Across America” campaign are July 24 -31, 2010.

And as stated on their web site:

"Clean Across America is a volunteer effort that started with one local contractor in 2000. With growing support from organizations like the Power Washers of North America and the Take Pride In America Foundation, CAA has grown into a national effort with support from pressure washing contractors across the nation!"

After those simple beginnings by Henry Bockman, over the last ten years Clean Across America has donated over $250,000 worth of services of time and chemicals.

Soap Warehouse has participated in the past by just sending in a donation, but we would like one of our customers or a brand new customer to donate their time to this cause so we could donate the chemicals to their project. So far in the last three years none of our customers have stepped up and volunteered. So we are hoping with this article and more awareness that we can find at least one new or current customer that would be willing to do some project no matter how small for this great cause in their town or community.

We understand that the majority of our clients are fleet washers and truck wash and car wash operators that don't do any kind of exterior washing, but all we can do is ask. If even one, among the less then 20% of our customers, or even a brand new customer might come forward we would love to help make it happen.

For your business to participate by doing a cleaning job you must fill out and subimit a form to the CAA. Please go here to get a Clean Across America form, but if you are also a PWNA (Power Washers of North America) member and want to participate there is a different form to fill out you can find here; PWNA form.

If you would like to participate individually, you can donate your time to the "Take Pride in America Foundation". You can go and look for projects in your area that are happening all through out the year. You can also suggest a project to the CAA in your area. If you do sign up to do a project and would like to possibly receive some or all of the chemicals needed for free from Soap Warehouse, please call us at 1-800-762-7911, to discuss your becoming a customer that would allow you to be the recipient of chemicals for this campaign.

"The individual contractors select which projects each wants to get involved with. Some contractors prefer large, highly visible projects requiring lots of hours to complete but most participants opt for projects that can be completed in a single day." Many will drive across the country, as was the case when some of the monuments in Washington DC where cleaned a few years ago, but you can chose something right in your local town or community.

Ideas would be; to clean the side walks of the town square, clean a historic building, clean a shelter either for human or animal, or a food bank. Even if you do not have a pressure washing business you can help clean a park, church grounds, city cemetery. Any thing that would be a benefit to the community at large is a worth while project.

You can also find videos of past projects at the CCA site as well many that where shown on local television news reports. You too would be able to contact local media; newspaper, radio and television to ask them to cover your donation work. Plus if you contact us and you get your chemicals for free you get even more value for the time that you volunteer.
